The Flower of Life is an ancient sacred symbol that represents the cycles of life.

This Flower of Life Urn in celadon green is a full size, individual urn intended for your loved one's cremains.

The color of this urn reminds me of the sun shining through new, delicate spring leaves and petals. The subtle celadon green is a transparent glaze which deepens in color where the petals are carved away, and lightens on the raised petal. The translucency of the glaze brings out the beauty of the white clay.

The method I use to create this pattern begins with a grid drawing, in pencil on the bone dry (greenware) urn. Many, many hours go into creating this urn… after it is made at the potters wheel it is then trimmed and carved to create the footed base. The petal-like pattern is painted on the dry clay with a resist. The clay is then rubbed away with a wet sponge, leaving the resist pattern raised above the rest of the surface. It is then fired twice to attain the final outcome.

The Flower of Life urn is one of a kind and measures 10″h x 8″w. and will hold up to 200 cubic inches **.

All of my pottery is handmade, one piece at a time. All sizes are approximate, meaning they may vary slightly in size… maybe 1/4-1/2″.
